“A brand is no longer what we tell the consumer it is—it is what consumers tell each other it is.” – Scott Cook

Overview:
The Nantucket Chamber of Commerce contracted with MEC to temporarily fulfill the role of the Director of Marketing position.  Responsibilities included managing the overall need for marketing and communications relative to membership, travel campaigns, MOTT grant processing, and the design and prepress management of the chamber’s annual guidebook.

In the 1990s, MEC produced ad campaigns “Closer than you think” for travel and tourism that appeared in the New York Times and the Boston Globe.  Additionally, we produced a special campaign “Get to the point” that targeted the business industry encouraging travel to Nantucket for corporate retreats and annual meetings.

Results:
All projects were met on time and within budget.  Additionally, the database was cleaned up, organized, and updated. The website was also updated. Furthermore, MEC provided recommendations on email marketing practices and updated the design of the email template, reviewed best practices with social media, and established digital interactive guides for annual signature events to curtail printing costs.
